Corvallis School District #1: Learning Care Center

Learning Care Center:

The Middle School has created a unique space for students who are struggling. These struggling students will be able to decompress, destress, and learn all at the same time. The Learning Care Center is an environment which has become increasingly important over the last several years. Many students realize that stress is interfering with their personal and academic goals, others don’t have that understanding, yet they are grappling with frustration at their performance. At risk, sensitive, and vulnerable students need a calm, reassuring and caring place, that is away from their peers, in order to regroup. Our primary objective is to ensure that all students can be successful, providing extra support and resources when needed. The Learning Care Center supplies a comfortable, stable environment, with a flexible approach to education for students who are in need of an alternate setting.
