“I also have the task of finding or making new tools to help us get our jobs done more efficiently and save time and money. For example, I welded together some propane tank holders, and the propane is used to heat up the asphalt patches so they’re more pliable and effective at filling potholes. Or, if we have a piece of equipment fail due to normal use, I will cut out or add more iron to it where needed to avoid the cost of a new piece of equipment.”
