Montana’s fall sports teams have placed 85 student-athletes on the Academic All-Big Sky Conference teams, according to an announcement from the league office. The Grizzlies ranked third in the conference, following Weber State with 95 selections and Idaho with 87.

The breakdown of Montana’s honorees includes seven men’s cross country runners, six women’s cross country runners, 41 football players, 20 soccer players, and 11 volleyball players. The football program, previously led by coach Bobby Hauck, had the highest number of selections in that sport across the conference. In soccer, Montana’s 20 honorees ranked second among all schools.

Big Sky Commissioner Tom Wistrcill commented on the achievements: “Congratulations to the 760-plus individuals who make up our 2025 Fall All-Academic teams. Student-athletes are met with so many distractions in the current state of college athletics. Seeing this group buckle down and earn this recognition is truly special and is also a testament to our campus communities that the right priorities are still in place.”

The full list of Montana’s Academic All-Big Sky Conference selections includes student-athletes from men’s and women’s cross country, football, soccer, and volleyball programs. Their fields of study range from business management and psychology to integrative physiology and various graduate programs.
