Rep. Ryan Zinke, U.S. Congressman representing Montana’s 1st district, posted a series of messages on his social media account in early August 2025 addressing conservation efforts, honoring military service members, and commenting on the inclusion of undocumented immigrants in the U.S. Census.

On August 5, Zinke discussed resource management while referencing a trip on the Madison River. He wrote, “Talking conservation, multiple use, and the next 100 years of resource management while floating the Madison. Check it out!”

Two days later, on August 7, he paid tribute to those who have served in the armed forces: “Today we honor the brave men and women who were wounded or gave their lives in service to our country. We will always remember their sacrifice. On behalf of a grateful nation, thank you.”

On August 8, Zinke commented on federal policy regarding census counts and undocumented immigrants: “Counting illegal immigrants in the Census rigs the system for sanctuary states and cities. California and New York shouldn’t get more money and more votes for refusing to enforce the law. @POTUS is taking the right steps to fix this loophole.”

Zinke has represented Montana’s 1st congressional district since 2023 after replacing Steve Daines that year. He previously served in the Montana Senate from 2009 to 2013 and was born in Bozeman, Montana in 1961 before earning degrees from both the University of Oregon and National University.
