Rep. Ryan Zinke, U.S. Congressman representing Montana’s 1st district, has recently addressed several legislative and policy issues on his social media account, including energy prices, school safety legislation, and federal regulation of local water resources.
On November 17, 2025, Zinke posted about recent trends in fuel costs: “Gas prices are at their lowest point in four years, driven by major regulatory reform and the unleashing of American energy potential. Big votes coming up on natural gas and oil this week to continue lowering energy costs and help keep more money in your pocket.”
The following day, he announced new legislation aimed at improving school security: “Just introduced the Strengthening Resources for Our Schools Act which authorizes retired Montana cops & combat veterans step up as School Resource Officers without losing a penny of their hard-earned retirement. Safer schools, honored service, the Montana way.”
Later that same day, Zinke criticized federal oversight of local water bodies: “Washington Bureaucrats trying to regulate cowponds from thousands of miles away was a bad idea from the start. It led to huge property rights violations and unneeded costs on ranchers, home builders and other landowners. Foolish policy that needed to be overhauled, great work”
Zinke has represented Montana’s 1st district in Congress since 2023 after succeeding Steve Daines. He previously served in the Montana Senate from 2009 to 2013. Born in Bozeman in 1961 and currently residing in Whitefish, Zinke holds degrees from both the University of Oregon and National University.
