Rep. Ryan Zinke, who represents Montana’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed issues ranging from national park access to local flooding and international security concerns through a series of posts on his social media account.
On December 10, 2025, Zinke expressed support for changes at Glacier National Park: “Ending the rationing of access to Glacier National Park via vehicle reservation system is a great thing for locals and anyone who wants to visit the park. This will increase access, letting visitors drive the Going-to-the-Sun Road with more flexibility, and will bring much needed”.
The following day, December 11, he updated constituents about ongoing weather events: “My staff and I are monitoring the flooding events unfolding in NW MT. I encourage residents, particularly in Lincoln and Sanders Counties, to follow public safety guidance, avoid driving into flooded streets, and”.
Later that same day, Zinke commented on national security matters involving illicit shipping networks: “The tanker was part of the dark fleet, a known illicit shipping network supporting foreign terrorist organizations that traffic drugs and blood oil. The commander in chief has the authority and responsibility to defend our borders and keep Americans safe.”
Zinke has served as Montana’s 1st District representative since 2023 after succeeding Steve Daines. He previously held office in the Montana Senate from 2009 to 2013. Born in Bozeman in 1961 and currently residing in Whitefish, Zinke graduated from the University of Oregon in 1984 before earning another degree from National University in 1991.
