Rep. Ryan Zinke, who represents Montana’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed topics ranging from international trade to local achievements and national heritage through a series of posts on his social media account.
On August 22, 2025, Zinke alleged misconduct by Russia in global commodities trading, stating “Russia cheats the palladium market. The Montana delegation won’t stand for it.”
Three days later, on August 25, he congratulated a local athlete for her accomplishment in competitive logging: “Bravo Zulu to Kalispell’s own Lauren “The Lumberjill” Bergman for setting the standing-block chop world record! A true force of Montana grit, she is carrying our proud forestry and logging tradition to the world stage.”
Later that same day, Zinke marked an anniversary related to conservation efforts: “109 years ago, the National Park Service was founded with the vision of safeguarding our most special places ‘for the benefit and enjoyment of the people.’ Montana is home to Yellowstone, Glacier, and many more historic sites and recreation areas managed by the NPS. Get outside”
Zinke has represented Montana’s 1st district since 2023 after replacing Steve Daines. He previously served in the Montana Senate from 2009 to 2013. Born in Bozeman in 1961 and currently residing in Whitefish at age 61, Zinke holds degrees from both the University of Oregon and National University.
