Rep. Ryan Zinke, U.S. Congressman representing Montana’s 1st district and a member of the Appropriations Committee, has shared updates regarding recent congressional actions on budget appropriations and government spending through a series of posts in July 2025.

On July 18, Zinke announced the passage of a key budget measure, stating, “The House has passed the second Budget Appropriations Bill of the year. As a member of the Appropriations Committee, I was proud to support key wins for our national security and our men and women in uniform. The FY26 Defense Appropriations Bill includes my amendment boosting”.

Later that day, Zinke elaborated on his fiscal priorities with another post: “Your tax dollars should fund roads, bridges, law enforcement, border security, and programs for American citizens, not woke programming, Iraqi Sesame Street, or sexual reproduction studies in Venezuela. That’s why I voted for the rescissions package. The age of waste, fraud, and”.

On July 21, he addressed ongoing legislative work related to federal spending: “Three major appropriations markups this week. These 10+ hour markups shape how your tax dollars are spent. I’ll be in the room making sure Montana’s priorities are reflected in this year’s budget.”

Zinke has served as Montana’s representative since 2023 after succeeding Steve Daines in Congress. He previously served in the Montana Senate from 2009 to 2013 and was born in Bozeman in 1961 before settling in Whitefish. Zinke holds degrees from both the University of Oregon and National University.
