Rep. Ryan Zinke, U.S. Congressman representing Montana’s 1st district, shared updates this week on social media regarding his activities in Washington, D.C., and his ongoing advocacy for Montana’s industries and infrastructure.
On July 16, Zinke posted a greeting from a local establishment: “Good morning and happy Wednesday from Montana Coffee”.
Later that day, he highlighted a meeting with industry representatives: “Great meeting with the American Loggers Council today. As a Montanan and former Secretary of the Interior, I know how important our timber industry is to forest health, jobs, and rural economies. I will continue to be an advocate for our loggers here in D.C.” (July 16).
On July 17, Zinke announced progress on funding for regional projects: “The THUD appropriations bill passed full committee markup and is headed to the floor for a vote. The bill includes nearly $20M in funds I requested for critical infrastructure projects. These are huge investments for Western Montana.
$10,000,000 for the Seeley Lake Wastewater”.
Zinke has represented Montana’s 1st district in Congress since 2023 after replacing Steve Daines. He previously served in the Montana Senate from 2009 to 2013 and was born in Bozeman in 1961. He currently resides in Whitefish and holds degrees from the University of Oregon and National University.
