Rep. Ryan Zinke, U.S. Congressman representing Montana’s 1st district, published several statements on social media between April 13 and April 14, 2026, addressing topics ranging from military families to historical anniversaries and Holocaust remembrance.
On April 13, Zinke acknowledged the sacrifices of children in military families during the Month of the Military Child. He stated, “This Month of the Military Child, we honor the strength and sacrifice of the kids who serve alongside their families. Military life shapes them in ways most never experience. As a Navy SEAL and a father, I saw firsthand what that meant for my own children. They lived through long” (April 13, 2026).
Later that day, Zinke commemorated Thomas Jefferson’s birthday by referencing foundational American principles: “On this day in 1743, Thomas Jefferson was born. The principles he helped set in motion at our nation’s founding still serve as a guiding light today, that all men are created equal and are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights: Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of” (April 13, 2026).
On April 14, Zinke addressed Holocaust Remembrance Day with a call for reflection: “Holocaust Remembrance Day calls us to pause and reflect on the millions of Jewish voices silenced and futures stolen at the hands of evil. We must honor the survivors and vow together “never again.”” (April 14, 2026).
Zinke has represented Montana’s 1st congressional district since replacing Steve Daines in 2023. He previously served in the Montana Senate from 2009 to 2013. Born in Bozeman in 1961 and currently residing in Whitefish at age 61, Zinke is an alumnus of both the University of Oregon and National University.
