Rep. Ryan Zinke, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Montana’s 1st district, has shared his perspectives on several issues via social media. Zinke, who took office in 2023 after replacing Steve Daines, is known for his commitment to reforms and advocacy for Montana’s interests.

On July 8, 2025, Rep. Zinke expressed his views on work requirements and the removal of illegal immigrants from Medicaid and SNAP. He stated that these measures are not cuts but rather “savings and needed reforms.” According to him, “The Big Beautiful Bill strengthens these programs by ending abuse and ensuring help goes to those Americans who need these essential services.”

Later that day, he acknowledged National Cow Appreciation Day by highlighting the historical significance of cattle ranching in Montana. He noted that “Montana was built by cattle ranchers and all the agri-businesses supporting ranching,” emphasizing that it represents more than just a business but a way of life.

Additionally, Rep. Zinke addressed trade concerns related to energy supply on July 8th. He announced his participation with the Montana delegation in urging an investigation into trade barriers affecting the Montana-Alberta Tie Line. He argued that “Discriminating against Montana energy hurts both sides and puts our reliable energy supply at risk.”

Zinke was born in Bozeman, Montana in 1961 and currently resides in Whitefish. His educational background includes degrees from the University of Oregon and National University.
