To help flatten the curve of COVID-19, Montana closed Glacier National Park to all visitors. Glacier National Park followed recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and public health officials following closures of Yellowstone National Park and other state parks and forests.
Glacier National Park initially had closed some of its facilities but had kept the park open. As of March 27, the park and its facilities closed to visitors until further notice. Similar to Yellowstone, Glacier Park's main highway through the park remained open, as they are still necessary to support life and safety and commerce.
According to the National Park Service, Glacier National Park is considered the 'Crown of the Continent' with pristine forests, rugged mountains, and over 700 miles of trails to serve visitors and adventurous wilderness seekers.
Additional information, including information on all national park closures across the country, can be found on the National Park Service website.
