Cost of college was unchanged for all students at Salish Kootenai College

In-state tuition and fees were unchanged for 2018-19 at Salish Kootenai College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Montana residents paid $6,349 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution in both the 2017-18 and 2018-19 academic years.

Non-residents paid 82.5 percent more than residents this year, or $11,584. Their price tag grew 0 percent from $11,583 in 2017-18.

About 84 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Montana residents. And about 16 percent are residents of other states.

Data shows 77 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 114 students received grants or scholarships totaling $552,038 and 30 students took out student loans totaling more than $107,219.

Including all undergraduates (720), 661 students used grants or scholarships totaling $4 million, and 237 students took out $1.1 million in federal student loans.
