U.S. Sen. Steve Daines has garnered $333,333.33 for the Vaughn Volunteer Fire Department, according to a press release.
The funds will be coming from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Assistance to Firefighters (AFG) Program.
“This is about ensuring our firefighters in Vaughn have the critical support needed to keep our communities safe during this fire season. I will continue working to ensure all of our brave firefighters have the help they need as they work to battle wildfires across Montana,” Daines said in a statement via the press release.
The donation serves as the most recent that Daines has announced from the AFG program. Back in August, he rolled out a $197,131 grant to the West End Volunteer Fire District in De Borgia, and $217,063.59 to the City of Great Falls and the East Missoula Rural Fire Department.
He also announced the AFG’s donation of $196,496.64 to the Manhattan and Missoula fire departments, as well as an announcement of $50,000 in funds for the City and County of Butte-Silver Bow’s fire department in late July.
