Sen. Steve Daines has called on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to secure a safe and effective COVID-19 vaccine for every Montanan across the state.
Daines’ statement comes amid his announcement that he participated in Pfizer’s vaccine trial to build confidence and trust among the American people.
“As states across the country work to develop their vaccine distribution plans in consultation with the federal government, I encourage the CDC to consider the unique challenges facing those in remote and rural communities in Montana and across the nation who may have difficulty accessing vaccination services,” Daines wrote in the letter. “It will also be critical to ensure that frontline health care heroes, essential workers, individuals with medical conditions possessing risk factors for severe COVID-19 illness, as well as staff and residents of long-term care facilities such as nursing homes have access to a safe and effective vaccine as soon as possible.”
