It’s Friday, and Missoula County employees are working hard for you! Meet Chelsea Cross, Technology Apprentice in Information Systems.
Working for the Missoula County Information Systems as a Technology Apprentice is allowing me a plethora of experience I otherwise would not have received from a textbook.
I am honored to call myself an apprentice and delighted to be a part of this wonderful department.
I am a hands-on learner, and this opportunity has given me the ability to put my knowledge to work and be taught by some of the best in Montana.
I am graced with helping others, troubleshooting technological issues, repairing/maintaining equipment and voicing my input/ideas. I set up new or improved devices for employees of Missoula County to ensure efficiency so their jobs run smoother.
When I ask questions (which is frequently), everyone responds with a kind and understanding manner. After all, I am in a department full of fascinating technological geniuses.
The best part is they are understanding of my schedule as a single parent who works and pursues a degree with disabilities. I’d like to give a shout out to all employees of the County, including temps and interns. My position has allowed me to see how hard everyone works to keep things in order in the community.
We need more opportunities like this, and praise to everyone who has made it possible!
