Earlier this month, staff from the Missoula County Water Quality District and the Big Sky Watershed Corp visited a 7th grade class at Target Range School to talk about where drinking water comes from. They talked about Missoula’s aquifer and used a model to demonstrate how water moves underground and is connected to surface water like the Clark Fork River. They discussed how what we do on the surface (fuel and other spills, application of fertilizer, pesticides, deicer, etc.) can influence the quality of the groundwater. They finished the visit with a lively and fun game of water quality Jeopardy!
