Did you know? The Missoula Valley Water Quality District was created by a joint resolution between the City of Missoula and the Missoula Board of County Commissioners in 1993, with the mission of improving surface and groundwater quality in the Missoula valley.
The Water Quality District is responsible for monitoring wells, streams and water quality research. The district also staffs a 24-hour on-call hazardous materials response team. As part of the Missoula City-County Health Department, the district also maintains a public health laboratory for water research and contaminant investigation.
