The University of Montana has announced that over 800 students are candidates for degrees in the autumn semester of 2025. The lists of degree candidates, including those who have already been awarded their degrees, are available online on the UM Dean’s List and Degree Candidates page.

Academic honors are noted for some students: “cum laude” is given to those with a GPA between 3.40 and 3.69, “magna laude” to those with a GPA from 3.70 to 3.89, and “summa laude” for GPAs of 3.90 or higher. However, the university notes that “Official awarding of a degree and any official designation of graduation with honors or graduation with high honors is not made until students complete their final term of enrollment and meet all requirements.”

The Fall Commencement ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 12, in the Adams Center. Lana Batts, an alumna of the university and a longtime executive in the trucking industry, will receive an honorary doctorate and deliver the Commencement address.
