The University of Montana began its spring semester on January 15, welcoming students back to campus for classes. The semester will feature several community events, some of which have been held for over a century.

Among the scheduled activities are the annual Nike N7-inspired basketball games, which honor Native American heritage and contributions. These games are set for January 24 and January 31, with tickets available through Griztix.

The university will also host the 107th Forester’s Ball on February 6 and 7. Tickets can be purchased via Griztix.

Another notable event is the world premiere of Montana Repertory Theatre’s “Can’t Drink Salt Water,” a production focusing on the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women epidemic. The show will run from February 14 to February 22.

Additionally, the Annual Winter Pep Rally will take place on February 14 between the Lady Griz and men’s basketball games against Montana State University.

“Media covering the events above or the start of the spring semester are encouraged to reach out to Dave Kuntz, UM director of strategic communications,” said Dave Kuntz.
