Montana GOP backers are calling out Gov. Steve Bullock for waffling on issues such as the Keystone XL Pipeline and gun control. A group of GOP members have created a satirical website called BothWaysBullock.com to make their point.
The websites quotes a recent story in the Sydney Herald in which Bullock takes shots at the Keystone XL pipeline for its potential environmental impact.
“Gov. Steve Bullock today submitted comments on behalf of the state of Montana on the Draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (Draft SEIS) for the Proposed Keystone XL Pipeline, expressing concerns over the failure to adequately analyze potential spill impacts and response, cultural resource impacts, and fish and wildlife resource impacts,” the report states.
Gov. Steve Bullock
The governor sounded very different in 2013, when he said he "strongly supported" the Keystone XL Pipeline.
The website also calls out the governor for his recent remarks in support of a ban on semi-automatic assault rifles. In the past, Bullock has campaigned as a strong supporter of Second Amendment rights, the website says.
The website charges that Bullock was trying to moderate his past positions as he sought the national spotlight in his effort to become the Democratic nominee for president in 2020. Last week, Bullock shutdown his campaign and withdrew from the race.
