Sen. Steve Daines recently announced that the Department of Labor (DOL) has acted on his request to reopen Montana’s Job Corps Centers for in-person learning, according to a press release on the Daines' website.
In response to Daines' request to the administration, the DOL released a plan for phased reopening of Job Corps campuses that will allow students currently taking classes remotely to return for in-person learning.
“I’m so glad to see the Department of Labor act on my request to provide in person learning for students enrolled at Montana Job Corps Centers,” Daines said. “Job Corps centers provide valuable educational and vocational training in skilled trades to folks all across our state. I’m glad that our Job Corps students can return to in person learning to prepare them to fill good paying, high-demand jobs that are critical to Montana’s economy.”
Daines sent a letter to the DOL calling for a return to in-person learning because the majority of career training offered by Job Corps are hands on and require in-person training.
