Get a Second Chance to Exhibit Work

The University of Montana School of Visual and Media Arts will present the 2020 Bachelor of Fine Arts Senior Thesis Exhibition Oct. 1-22 in the Gallery of Visual Arts. A portion of the exhibit also will be on display at the University Center Gallery Sept. 28-Oct. 23. Masks are required and visitors should follow social distancing guidelines.

When the University suddenly shut down due to COVID-19 this spring, the BFA class of 2020 was in the final midst of finishing work for their thesis exhibition. The annual BFA Senior Thesis Exhibition is considered the capstone experience for these 20 students and they are getting another chance to show their artwork.

The exhibition is a diverse array of media and content, and represents the highest level of undergraduate work in the visual arts program. Figurative and abstract paintings, drawings, sculpture, installation art, printmaking, and functional and sculptural ceramics will be featured.

The Gallery of Visual Arts, located on the first floor of UM's Social Science Building, is open 11 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday through Thursday. The UC Gallery, located on the second floor of the UC, is open 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday through Friday

For more information please call the Gallery of Visual Arts at 406-243-2813 or email cathryn.mallory@umontana.edu, or call the UC Gallery at 406-243-5564 or email ucgallery@mso.umt.edu.
