Records indicate that an executive law judge has ruled in favor of efforts taken by the Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) who removed 27 children from Ranch for Kids (RFK) in July of 2019.

The RFK is a private alternative adolescent residential or outdoor program (PAARP) that is located close to Rexford.

The children were removed from RFK due to serious accusations of extreme, persistent and tenacious child abuse and neglect.

The children's ages range from 11 to 17. As a consequence to the accusations, DPHHS has revoked RFK’s PAARP permit in addition to removing the children.

The resolution calls for the suspension of the RFK PAARP permit. Residents can view the suspension here.

“We are pleased with the fair hearing decision,” DPHHS acting director Erica Johnston said in a press release. “But even more important, we continue to keep the children who lived this nightmare in our thoughts as they continue to heal, and work to move on with their lives.”
