WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Congressman Ryan Zinke made significant votes on various supplemental funding requests for foreign aid, including measures addressing national security issues in Israel, Ukraine, and the Pacific. In response to his votes, Zinke provided detailed statements explaining the rationale behind his decisions.

Regarding H.R. 8034, the Israel Security Supplemental Appropriations Act, Zinke expressed his dissent by stating, "I’ve been to a lot of battles in my life, and I’ve never seen the President of the United States send aid to the enemy while allied troops are under fire." He emphasized his opposition to sending aid to Gaza without an unconditional surrender and release of hostages.

In his decision on H.R. 8035, the Ukraine Security Supplemental Appropriations Act, Zinke voiced his concerns about the allocation of taxpayer dollars, stating, "Congress and Biden have sent billions and billions of taxpayer dollars to fund a war in Ukraine, and for what?" He questioned the lack of a clear plan for Ukraine and highlighted domestic issues facing the United States.

On the Indo-Pacific Security Supplemental Appropriations Act (H.R. 8036), Zinke took a different stance, voting in favor of the measure. He emphasized the threat posed by China, stating, "China is not our friend. They are a competitor at best, enemy at worst and I would say right now they are clearly our adversary." Zinke underscored the importance of protecting U.S. interests in the Pacific region.

Lastly, on H.R. 8038, the 21st Century Peace through Strength Act, Zinke supported the bill by drawing comparisons between past administrations, stating, "Under Reagan and Trump, we had peace through strength. Under Biden we have war through weakness." He emphasized the need for the United States to assert its strength in the face of emerging global challenges.

Zinke's statements reflect his nuanced approach to foreign aid and national security issues, highlighting his concerns and priorities in the current political landscape.
